When you think about pizza, it's easy to imagine heading to the corner shop for a good old Hawaiian to devour in front of the telly. But one Northern Territory company is cooking wood-oven pizzas the way they should be, creating sensational toppings using only the best and freshest local ingredients. And the best part is, they'll do it wherever you like!
Originally from WA, food loving couple Lisette Monsello and Ian Campbell have created Pizza A La Cart, Woodfired Pizzas, the Territory’s first mobile wood fired pizza business. Popping up at events right across the Top End, the Pizza A La Cart team is best known for its regular Sunday night spot at the Nightcliff Foreshore & Mindil Beach Sunset Markets, where the incredible wood oven aromas never fail to draw an impressive crowd.
The couple pride themselves on using as much local and fresh produce as possible to create sensational pizza varieties like Pizza Salsiccia (tomato, bocconcini, and hot cacciatore salame) and Pizza Bianca Con Patate (bocconcini, potato, Spanish onion, fresh oregano and extra virgin olive oil). And like it says in the name, Pizza A La Cart is a mobile business – so you can hire the whole kit and caboodle to feed hordes of hungry mates at your next big shin dig! Or if you love it so much, you can even buy the whole kit and caboodle & operate your own business.
Nothing can be more relaxing than tucking into a traditional Top End pizza on the foreshore, with the tropical sunset as your backdrop. So if you’re in the mood for pizza next Sunday night, skip the corner shop and head to Nightcliff or Mindil for your very own mouth-watering Pizza A La Cart creation.
